Chain Gang Q&A: a series of connected interviews snaking its way through the comedy world like a row of prisoners chained together on the side of the road in the blazing sun. (Nailed that analogy.) Really, this is more like a chain letter without all the urban legend and pyramid schemes; lady after lady passing along the Q&A until we’ve reached you all.
What are the three words your best friend would use to describe you?
A veritable tour de force (she doesn’t know if that counts as five words or three)
What was the last thing that made you laugh so hard you cried?
The last time I cried, I cried so hard I laughed. Then I laughed so hard I cried again. That being said, I’m pretty sane.
What’s the craziest idea you’ve ever had that came to fruition?
That I could get paid for writing.
What are you working on right now?
I’m writing regularly for Comedy Central’s Indecision website, as well as doing freelance work for some other sites. I’m also submitting to a couple of shows and working on a spec script. There are several other projects I’m working on, like turning a tweet into a scripted short video, and sometimes I stand on a stage and tell jokes like some kind of comedian. There are a lot of irons in the fire, my sisters, and they are hot as sin. Also working on the next Me Three Podcast with my friend Darci Ratliff, which will hopefully be out soon. Beyond that, I’m working on my glutes and my composure in the face of adversity.
What song do you play when you want to pump yourself up?
“The Teddy Bear’s Picnic” because I find it to be kind of creepy, and I’ve always confronted fears by trying to be more frightening than them. I’m kidding. It’s “New Rose” by The Damned. Maybe a mash-up?
