GLOC or Gorgeous Ladies of Comedy is a community-building organization for comediennes and their fans.

Our mission is to inspire women to empower their lives and others’ through comedy. By doing so we hope to see a shift in the comedy world on a larger scale. Comedy is a meritocracy, but the ‘acceptable’ molds women must fit in order to break through is nothing to laugh at. GLOC intends to promote and feature any woman working in comedy who is interested in joining the community–power in numbers!–but we are especially interested in women who think outside the norm. The weird, wonderful, oddball, stubborn, staunch, wild, Bechdel Test-embracing women who create and perform from a place of unabashed honesty.

Additionally, GLOC loves men and especially men who love and support women. We feature male comics on all of our shows and encourage them to contribute to our website.

GLOC is currently working on facilitating female-driven content for the web, until then, please enjoy our website–and contribute if you’re so inclined–and any one of our shows running in New York.
